Encoded Essence – A Fusion of Digital and Organic Aesthetics

This jewelry collection explores the interplay of technology and nature through layered plexiglass. Each piece is meticulously composed of laser-engraved sheets, patterns reminiscent of cryptic digital codes. The varying hues of each layer enhance the depth, creating an almost visual illusion—an encrypted message hidden within translucent structures.

Encased in an epoxy glaze, the pieces evoke the sensation of peering into a frozen moment, a shard of ice preserving something untold. The predominant green tones lend the collection an organic, almost aquatic quality, suggesting elements of seaweed and algae drifting in a digital tide.

Timeless in design and entirely unique in execution, these rings transform with every shift in perspective, inviting the viewer to decode their ever-changing forms.

Ring No I.

I was exploring what all the features of the program I use for preparing files for laser engraving can do when I discovered generative patterns (PostSctipt fill textures) that can be applied as fills for objects. I reviewed them individually until the "carpet" pattern caught my attention. It had a large number of settings.

It took some time for the composition of patterns and combinations to start making sense. I was fascinated by how they changed when different input numbers were entered. I decided to try engraving them into plexiglass, my favorite material. I became completely immersed in the combinatorics and possibilities.
